DOM PELEN MUZYKI

The main inspiration for the project was the profession of the householder - a musician. The aim was to create a house which could be filled by sound. However, it’s a diffcult profession for the other members of the family. I decided to place the practicing room in the basement under the atrium and design the house around it. The inner walls of the house are made of glass with big windows, so if the family members want to hear a bit of the music they can open the windows and then the sounds will fill the house. On the ground level, the atrium has an opening to the west, so that it could let some of the sunset light inside. The layout of the windows does not only refer to sounds of music, notes and rhytms but is also closely subordinated to functions and world directions.
